Jogging

On Saturday, Brady, some of my fam, and some very fine friends ventured out to run in the Salt Lake City Marathon. Well technically, most of us ran in the 5K and my brother ran in the half-marathon. Maybe one day I'll run a marathon, but right now it just seems down right painful. Anyway, my friends (from the A-Team) and I ran in memory of our friend's sister who had passed away in a skiing accident in April (see group photo here). She was only 15 and full of life, so it was pretty shocking. I was so happy that I could help out a friend by running the race. I loved Jogging for Jiggy! I also had a PR (personal record) for the race. I beat my Disney 5K time by about two minutes.

Another fun part of the race was sort of running with my brother and his wife. Even though Emily and I were entered into the same race, she had finished running and probably cooling down by the time I crossed the finish line, while Teren was not too far behind me finishing his half-marathon. These two go-getters are pretty much professional runners and make me look like I'm walking slowly even when I am running. So Brady and I stuck around for the awards ceremony so Teren and Emily could pick up their round trip ticket with Jet Blue for winning their races. We also got to hang out with my parents, and Teren and Emily's insanely cute little boy, Cole.

To finish, the best thing about running the race, seeing all the crazy people dressed up in costumes and funny shirt designs, and the worst, having 7 Eleven as one of the sponsors and consequently having someone offer me a hot dog as soon as I finished running. Yuck!

So cool that you ran that! I'm going to have to do that one day. I was wondering if you were related to the Jameson's that placed for the half-marathon. That's awesome! And Cole is darling!
